During Phase 1, EVAN GILBERT DRAFTING & DESIGN INC. will begin the planning and conceptual process of your custom home design.
Once we have obtained the initial information for a project, it is super imperative to our design process that our clients do some homework! We want gathered information from all different sources and visual aids to help us create the details you like, style and customization you want! Some great resources to gather photos would be our company website, our social media pages and our Houzz page.
As a client with EVAN GILBERT DRAFTING & DESIGN INC. during this phase, we plan out all the initial details of your design specifications from building location on property, to room locations and design layouts. Along with your wants and needs list, we want to utilize the visual aids provided, and work with you to create exactly what you vision for your project.
Within this phase we include research and development. This includes, a site visit (if required) and take site pictures. This is imperative to understand the details of the lot and design a home that best captures the qualities of the lot, such as direction of the sun or angle towards a view. In addition, our design team will research any subdivision guidelines, local zoning blaws and confirm all details of the lot. Once the checklist is completed, you may meet with the designer to discuss the details of your checklist and confirm the vision going forward.
Now it’s time for the designer to create some initial bubble diagrams and sketches. Not always is this step shared with the client, as these are conssketchesketches before moving to the computer, depending on the project this may be overwhelming or confusing for some. If needed, we will share early schematic designs to help guide the process forward.
